GÓRKAL 50
General characteristics

The GÓRKAL 50 cement is a hydraulic binder applied in producing fire resistant concrete and isolation pulps working at 1300-1450°C. It is mainly consisted of calcium aluminate, which gives excellent fire resistant properties. This type of cement is also used in doing repairs by vibration, whipping and rough cast methods.

GÓRKAL 50 is extremely active in a hydraulic sense, it achieves its best mechanical properties after 12 hours since the preparation (about 80% of durability), which has got an important effect on application possibilities.

Application

GÓRKAL 50 cement is widely applied in various industry branches. It is mainly used in:
  • the power industry,
  • the heating plants,
  • the iron and non ferrous metallurgical works,
  • the glass and pottery industry,
  • the chemical and cement industry.
In the power industry GÓRKAL 50 is used for covering side walls of steam boilers and installations of a furnace chamber.

In the heating plants it is applied to a furnace of heating units.

Chemical composition

The technological process production of GÓRKAL 50 is under strict control, which finally ensures the stable chemical composition.

Chemical element Percent contents
Al2O3 50-52 percent
CaO 36-38 percent
SiO2 2-3,5 percent
Fe2O3 7-10 percent

    Heaped density 1,1 g/cm3
Specific surface according to Blaine 3200-3500 cm2/g

     Mechanical properties

GÓRKAL 50 is extremely active in a hydraulic sense, it achieves its best mechanical properties after 24 hours since the preparation:
    • Flexural bending strength after 24 h min. 7,0 MPa,
    • Compressive strength after 24 h min. 45 MPa.
     Hydraulic properties
    Setting time
  • the beginning time from 1.5 to 4 hours,
  • the ending time frorn 5 to 8 hours.

  • The high quality of the cement and the proper wrappage allow to store it for three months’ time. In practice, however, it preserves all its properties for half a year.
