Expanding gypsum-alumina cement
Basic characteristics
  • Ultimate strength for 72 hours is no less than 280 kg/sm
  • The hardening process starts no earlier than in 10 minutes and finishes no later than in 4 hours after tempering
  • Linear expansion in 72 hours after sampling is to be no less than 0,1 percent and no more than 0,7 percent
  • Concrete and solutions which are made on the basis of this cement, possess waterproofness under 10-atmosphericpressure of water
Basic properties

Concrete and solutions in terms of expanding gypsum-alumina cement are able to solidify in the open air and in water and are also characterized by:
  • Nonshrink properties while solidification in water
  • Shrink properties while solidification in the open air which are half as much in comparison with those of the alumina cement
  • Stability and durability
  • Capability to undergo the steaming but one should not use it at temperature exceeding 90-100° C;
  • In 24 hours the durability is 43 percent, in 72 hours it is 85 percent of the durability in 28 days
  • High atmospheric stability, frost-resistance, sulphateresistance
  • The advantage over concrete based on Portland cement in building monolithic massive constructions and pouring in foundation bolts, higher fireproof
Field of application

Expanding gypsum-alumina cement is used to produce nonshrinking, expanding and waterproof concrete and waterproofing plaster:
  1. This cement is used in metro construction to improve waterproofness of metro tunnels, joint packing between the tubes, joint grouting and consolidation of old constructions.
  2. It is used in the industrial and civil engineering to build reservoirs for oil storing and other similar purposes; it is also used for joint packing of water pipes under the pressure of 10 atmospheres.
  3. In municipal economy it is used to provide the waterproofing cover of the treatment plants, the joint monolithing of different pipelines, to liquidate breakdowns, which are connected with fluid leakage, to build water-pools and to repair shower constructions.
